Kazakhstan’s healthcare professionals share advancements in preventing maternal and child mortality with colleagues from Afghanistan

30 Afghan healthcare professionals helping pregnant women and children across a number of sectors have come to Kazakhstan to learn modern methods of care during pregnancy and delivery. The two-week workshop, jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and UNDP, with the financial support from the Government of Japan, involved gynaecologists, obstetricians and family planning experts from rural areas of Afghanistan, most of them women.
